Default Add sound to emotes

Last night when I did Thirsty River, the ending had everyone roar and cheer for victory. It's accompanied by great sound effect of everyone roars. So I think great if we also add sound effect to our regular emotes.

If adding sound effect can make lots of noise when people start spamming them, it's become necessary to make emotes queue up so that you can only play the next emote after the previous one had stop. Cycling emotes need to be canceled by moving before using another emote

-------------------------

Update: I just realized some emote sounds like /taunt is hard to implement. Maybe just provide sound to some of the emotes like /laugh, /yes, /no, and.../dance?

As long as its quiet and unintrusive I don't see a problem with it. Just don't add music to instruments.

Many leave emote chat off as it is because of constant spamming. If you added sound on top of that, it would just be an extreme annoyance

I already foresee that problem, and provided my solution in the original post. Please read it throughly.

So only one or two people can use an emote, right? Then you've got a small handful or people using cycling emotes, and no one else can use any at all.

Don't get me wrong, I think its a good idea, but it just leaves it too open for abuse

Still even if you have to wait for one emote to stop before going onto the next, think about crowded districts! Constant emote noise going on than.

My suggestion to that would be that you only hear the emote noises of people in your party.

What about having turning emotes off also mutes them? So that if you turn them off in chatbox(like you can now), it also mutes any noise from them.

I agree with the phantom, the sounds should only be heard from the party instead of everybody or we'd have rampant people spamming emotes like they already do. But this time 10x more of them.

What I intended to say is playback queue. For example, if you do /roar, then you'll have to wait for your roar to finish playing before playing another emote.

Also the sound effect need to be limited to people "within earshot". Which can utilize EAX effect on many people's sound card.

One more thing to shut off? I'll just vote no. Would be more than a little irritating.

Look at those options in the option tag.

Most of them are there becuse people felt some things 'irritating' add an option to 'mute' other people emote sounds and done.
But what someone feel irritating, other may not.

Remember the Simpsons Treehouse of Horror VII?
"Abortions for some, miniature American flags for others".
Being a client side option, would not lag, so everbody happy.
